Edinburgh's Christmas celebrations will be officially declared open to the public at the city's magical Light Night ceremony, when 200,000 lights across the city are switched on and with this preview of some of the shows at this year's Winter festival at the Winter Wonderland .

The event, which historically has attracted over 7,000 spectators, will see performances from Keith Jack and Funtastic, an appearance by Drags Aloud, displays by the Inverness ice skating squad, and renowned British ice skater Alisha Carnie (aged 15) and a fireworks finale.

Access to the event area at 4.30pm. Event starts at 5pm.
