And so, Ben and Andie meet, and they both embark on their secret missions without revealing their true intentions. Andie goes all out to make Ben fall for her, and then break his heart, just so she can write her article. But Ben, he’s hoping to make Andie fall madly in love with him. Andie pulls off some crazy stunts, like making Ben miss the final shot in a Knicks game by sending him to buy her a soda, or talking loudly during a movie and getting him knocked out, just to name a few. She even starts moving her stuff into his apartment, gets him a plant and a dog, and surprises him with a Celine Dion concert instead of a basketball game. But amidst all the chaos, Ben starts to see glimpses of Andie’s true self, the girl he’s actually falling for.

At one point, Andie has had enough and throws a massive tantrum at Ben’s poker night, hoping it will finally push him away. But Ben’s friends, Tony and Thayer, encourage him to give it another shot and suggest couples counseling with Andie. Andie brings in Michelle to pose as a therapist and tries to make Ben feel ashamed. But Ben decides to take a different approach and invites Andie to meet his family in Staten Island. During the visit, they both discover a genuine connection and start to see past the games they’ve been playing.

Together, they attend the company ball, where Phillip talks to Andie and tells Ben, “I met her, she loves you, you win.” But here’s where things get messy. Judy and Judy, those sneaky rivals, decide to spill the beans to Tony and Thayer. They reveal that Andie knew about the bet all along and was just playing along to help Ben win. Tony and Thayer plead with Andie to keep quiet, unknowingly exposing the truth to her. At the same time, Andie’s boss, Lana, who has no clue about Ben’s involvement, spills the beans about Andie’s “How To” article. When Andie discovers the bet, she decides to humiliate Ben in front of everyone at the party, and they end up breaking up on stage.

But wait, there’s hope! Tony shows Ben the article Andie wrote, pouring her heart out about losing the only guy she’s ever fallen for. Ben realizes that Andie quit her job at Composure because Lana refused to let her write about serious topics, and she’s on her way to Washington, D.C., for an interview. Determined to set things right, Ben chases after her taxi and stops her. He accuses her of running away, but they finally admit their true feelings for each other. Ben tells the taxi driver to take Andie home and announces that he’ll be going with her. And just like that, they share a passionate kiss.
